Dear NCCS partner,

As 2019 is coming to end, we want to thank you all for the contributions to NCCS. We have already more than three years in operation since the official kick-off in November 2016, and we are very proud of our achievements so far.
NCCS-Christmas-greeting
The Norwegian CCS Research Centre (NCCS) is the largest targeted strategic research effort world-wide on CCS. The partnership in NCCS is strong, and the financial situation solid. Our goal is to enable our partners to realise the potential of CCS.

2019 has been a busy and eventful year, this is covered in the newsletter from NCCS, blogs and webinars found at our web-site and eRoom. Here I will mention only a few highlights.

In January the Effect Study in Norway, documenting the value of 10 years of energy research was published. The study showed that the return of investment is 4 times the 4 billion NOK invested. NCCS was responsible for the CCS analysis in the report.

In June, the TCCS-10 - The Trondheim Conference on CO2 Capture, Transport and Storage – took place. Since the first event in 2003, the bi-annual Conference has grown to become one of the leading scientific conferences on CCS. This year's conference drew 403 attendees from 23 countries, and presented 10 keynotes, 115 oral presentations in five parallel sessions, and 116 posters.
NCCS co-sponsored a Mission Innovation Challenge CCUS workshop, with 135 attendees in Trondheim, Norway, back-to-back with the TCCS-10 Conference. You can find the summary report here.

With 100 attendees, NCCS staged its third Consortium Days at the Frimurerlogen in Trondheim on October 22-23. After two days filled with presentations, pitches and technical discussions, partners are more aligned and up-to-date on the status within the centre and on the international scene.

I would like to express my gratitude to the members of the Scientific Committee, the Technical Advisory Committee, the NCCS Strategic Advisory Group and the NCCS Board for your personal engagement and many valuable contributions to the success of NCCS and CCS deployment globally.

Furthermore, I thank the NCCS Task families were industry, PhD-students and professors, and researchers work together to pursue the objectives of NCCS, supporting the deployment of full-scale CCS.

Last, but not least I will also thank the Research Council of Norway for being a demanding and constructive funding partner.

Merry Christmas and best wishes for a Happy New Year!
