Call for Novel Emerging Concepts 2019

The FME HighEFF Centre has allocated 1.5 MNOK/year for funding Novel Emerging Concepts.

The projects must be related to the HighEFF research and innovation objectives within emerging, energy efficient and cross-sectorial technologies for the participating industrial sectors (Metal and Materials - Oil, Gas and Energy – Food and Chemicals).

Novel Emerging Concepts not covered by on-going activities in the HighEFF, may apply for funding, to verify or realise the novel concept. Funding is normally in the range of 1 MNOK and a 1-year project period. The research must be performed by one or more of the research partners in HighEFF. Industry partners may contribute with in-kind contributions.

The applications should be maximum 2 pages and include:
  • A concise description of the Novel Emerging Concept
  • Outline of the Research Approach
  • A few References to the State of the Art (attached to the application)
  • Plan (e.g. Gannt chart) and Budget
  • Market Potential (companies and/or industrial sector)
There is no deadline for submitting applications, however, submitted applications will normally be evaluated only two times per year, usually in April and October.

Applications with significant investments in permanent infrastructure will normally be rejected.

Next evaluation will take place in April/May and proposals received within 26th of April will be evaluated.

Applications are to be sent by email to: arne.p.ratvik@sintef.no, jens.royrvik@samfunn.ntnu.no or petter.neksa@sintef.no

FME Innovation Task Force - 5 recommendations for more innovation in energy research

The concept of “saving the world” has become part of our everyday challenge. We are continually reminded by scenarios and reports on climate change, and the urgency of making changes. With all this going on, it is easy to become impatient – and a little anxious. This is why Centres for Environment-friendly Energy Research (FME) have …Read more

HighEFF self-assessment

FME HighEFF performed a self-assessment in January-March 2019. The purpose was to review experiences from the first two years of operation and make corrections as early as possible in the Centres lifetime. The self-assessment process has been a good occasion to collect valuable input especially from user partners.

You can find the report here (internal catalogue for partners).

The HighEFF management will follow up the issues listed for improvement in all the arenas we have for managing the centre as a whole.
